10043-35-3- Properties

White crystalline powder or colorless phosphorus flakes with a slight pearl luster or hexagonal triclinic crystals. Odorless, slightly sour and bitter in taste. The melting point is about 171 ℃. Soluble in water, alcohol, glycerin and essence oil, the aqueous solution is weakly acidic. The solubility of boric acid in water increases with temperature and can evaporate with water vapor The pH of Imol/L aqueous solution is 5.1. 19 can be dissolved in 18mL of cold water, 4mL of boiling water, 18mL of cold alcohol, 6mL of boiling alcohol, or 4mL of glycerol. There is a slippery sensation when in contact with the skin, and there is no change when exposed to the air. When heated to 100-105 ℃, it loses a molecule of water and forms metaboric acid. When heated for a long time at 104-160 ℃, it transforms into pyroboric acid. At higher temperatures, it forms anhydrous substances. At 300 ℃, it forms boric anhydride (B203).
